David Coote

Planning and Infrastructure Committee Vice Chairman

Rev David Coote was co-opted to the town council in April 2012. He moved to Midhurst on retirement as a methodist minister in 2010. Before ministry he was a quantity surveyor and has wide experience of both church and community life. He has been involved in many community based projects and currently is a management committee member of a housing association providing support for people with learning disabilities. He is active in Midhurst Methodist Church and in the wider life of the Methodist Church.

David is Vice Chair of the Planning Committee, organiser of the annual MADhurst carnival and is a MADhurst trustee. He is currently part of a team working to set up a community land trust. He represents the Town Council in conversations with the SDNP in the development of their local plan and on the Midhurst transport committee.

David is keen for the council to do what it can to enable Midhurst to continue to be an attractive and commercially vibrant town along with the development of a thriving and harmonious community life.
