Build a Picnic at the Coronation Celebration!

Whether you’re joining us for the Coronation in Market Square, or planning on celebrating with family at home, there is all you need for a wonderful British picnic at the farmer’s market in the Old Town, from 9am on Saturday 6th May.

 

Here is our guide for picnic foods that will be available on the day;

Jacob’s Bagels – Providing a range of filled bagels, including pastrami and salt beef and their famous BLT, alongside their unfilled range of bagels.

Pinders Patisserie – Pinders Patisserie are offering a full Coronation afternoon tea, available to pre-order by contacting them on Facebook or Instagram. On the day Pinders will be selling their range of sweet treats and bakes, including their popular jam donuts!

Picnic & Hamper – Penny from Picnic & Hamper will be offering a range of savoury and sweet picnic items, including an exclusive Coronation Tart.

JCs Fruit & Veg – Jamie and Emma are bringing along strawberries and cream and a selection of crudites to accompany your picnic!

The Gay Farmer – Mark is best known for his olive oils, but also makes a delicious range of pesto, available to purchase with some french stick and ciabatta to enjoy watching the Coronation.

Cheese on the Wey – John’s artisan cheeses are always popular for a picnic, as well as some pre-filled cheese rolls that will be ready to eat.

Turkish Olives – The range of Turkish Olives, Baklava and Turkish Delight make a wonderful accompaniment to any spread of nibbly bits and Behruz’ hummus is sure to be a crowd pleaser!

Jakes Artisan Foods – Jon will be along with his famous pork pies, pork scratchings and vegetarian pies as well!

Mopani Trading – For those who are partial to some biltong, Elton will be along with his fantastic range of biltong, stokkies  and South African treats.

Lucy Claire Catering – This picnic provider will be at the Coronation with a range of sweet and savoury goods that are ready to eat at the celebration in Market Square.

De Luca’s Ice Cream – Once you’ve enjoyed your picnic, finish off with a real dairy ice cream from everyone’s favourite local ice cream van.

 

 

In the cafes and restaurants

Garton’s Cafe will be selling cream teas and glasses of Pimm’s to enjoy while watching the Coronation.

The Swan Inn will be open for drinks, including a wide range of excellent ales.

Comestibles Deli will be open and selling their extensive range of sandwiches, deli items and sweet treats.
